Iggy comes to Burnaby

Burried in Barbara Yaffe's column is news that Michael Ignatieff is coming to Burnaby next Friday.

Ignatieff is in the process of redefining what it means to be a Liberal in Canada. His 150 conference later this month in Montreal hopes to follow in the footsteps of Pearson and Chretien. After their conferences they found their way to government within three years.

The Liberals have nominated Ken Lee in Burnaby-Douglas. They have yet to nominate a candidate in Burnaby-New Westminster.

Wouldn't worry about Burnaby New Westminster too much.

Gurvdev Dhilion, Most Mericful, The Great Ayatollah of The Burnaby Liberals will ensure the proper candidate has been chosen.

I thought the Ayatollah has already tilted his hand in favour of former school board trustee Helen Chang.

The Ayatollah may favour Helen Chang but Joyce Murray wants SFU professor June Francis to get the nomination. And what Joyce wants, she gets.

Scum is rife in BC and Burnaby politics.

I received an email from someone pretending to be Joyce Murray inviting me to see her pictures at an member's only adult dating site. (And no, I didn't look.)

Has anyone else got that kind of fake-o email about any other "local politician"?

Maybe, but the Ayatollah ultimately gives out the last hand wave of approval.

Murray will go to the Ayatollah on bended knee benevolently asking for the Ayatollah's blessing of Francis as a candidate nominee.

June Francis was present at Ignatieff's town hall meeting and asked what many thought was an interesting question. Also in attendence, though silent, was Helen Chang. Seated Between Helen and Mary Pynenburg was none other than the Ayatollah's voluptuous daughter, Sukhpreet Dhillon. Look for her to make waves on the Liberal scene in the near future. Rumour has her being groomed to run against Nina Grewal in Surrey.

Very, very voluptuary
How does your party grow?

In silvered halls,
with cuckold shills,
and pretty maids all in a row.

By the way, the name of the Liberal candidate in Burnaby Douglas is Ken Low, not Ken Lee.
