What a month

What a month for Burnaby. November brought automated garbage and yard waste collection began a little over a week ago. Burnaby also now has the new Tommy Douglas Library branch.

Which one will have a bigger impact on the city?

Garbage.

Garbage always has a big impact on the city.

The automated collection is in the can.

Does the automated system mean the city needs less people to collect garbage and the costs will go down due to not as many workers needed.

I noticed driving through Coquitlam today that they are still having their garbage picked up by Smithrite without any automated system. Anyone care to comment on the difference in costs. I assume Burnaby went automated to save money.

Nope you can still leave a Molson 12 pack out on Boxing Day for the guys that pick up your garbage.

They'll apperciate it, and make sure the lid can still go on the can and your trash can is still
circular the following week.

================

Huh? They dont even get out of their truck to pick up the garbage now. How are they going to know there is beer there. As well who wants a bunch of drunk garbage truck drivers around during the day thanks to the free beer.

Well "huh?" to you. Obviously didn't get the picture. If you
walk out to them with a 12 pack
with thanks, they'll notice.

If they drink the beer while on the job, two things will happen.

They won't have the beer and a job
when they get home.

Christmas beer for Garbage men.

Bad Optics nowadays. Rack it up to a PC Society. City of Burnaby should know all about that.

This site does not seem to have as much activity as it used to. Found the following site on Twitter. Compliments this one when there is a lull here.

There's too many boring people in here. Nothing new always the same thing.

There's more trash in here than what could be put into one of the new garbage containers before trash day.
