2/12

MLA Harry Bloy seems to give off the vibe 2/12 could be the next 9/11. Bloy called Olympic protestors "terrorists" with "limited intellect."

This is not going over so well. Bloggers, chat boards, and former municipal hall allies are not taking kindly to the remarks.

Bloy's focus is on the "economic benefits" and does not see anything wrong with his comments.

Comments like these may goad anti-Olympic activists into more aggressive behaviour. Premier Campbell and his team should keep an eye on rogue MLAs so that they do not further embarass B.C. when the world is watching in three months.

Harry Bloy is an idiot.

He actually is right but didn't say it properly. Most of these protesters are whackos who are from the rent a mob bank. The Olympics are just an excuse for them to get out and protest against the establishment. Just look at the poor paraplegic kid who couldn't carry the Olympic flame in Victoria because of these people demonstrating aggressively.

Now comparing them to OBL is a bit of a stretch.

He has a point, but Harry Bloy is still, and always will be, a moron.

Harry should be told to let that cut under his nose heal.

He does have a point.

If a protestor blocked my way from enjoying the games, I'll pound him.

Ah yes, the true spirit of the Olympics is alive!

So have you joined the protestors and actually told them to do anything about the homeless that the protestors supposedly care about??

You mean the protestors have homes?
OMG!

Well if they do, why don't these idiots take in what they believe and actually house a homeless person for a year?

If they don't, get a job and get
a basement suite and work up from there.

Nothing they say about the homeless is new.

Harry Bloy gets a bad rap. People have no idea how much he does behind the scenes and how much the premier relies on his counsel. He is absolutely not an idiot. I wouldn't be surprised if he runs for the leadership when Gordon Campbell announces his leadership. If so, he has a good chance of winning as a run up the middle. Bloy has been an excellent leader for the community and there's nothing wrong with calling it like it is when it comes to these protester thugs who are the real idiots.

"Harry Bloy gets a bad rap. People have no idea how much he does behind the scenes and how much the premier relies on his counsel."

I doubt Campbell relies on his counsel any more than he does the other MLAs. As for his behind the scenes, many are aware of the behind the scenes politiking he's
done in the past.

"He is absolutely not an idiot."

Maybe not 100%, but any MLA that goes through alot of Constituency Assistants that he does is one that
shows there's something wrong.

"I wouldn't be surprised if he runs for the leadership when Gordon Campbell announces his leadership."

Sure he gets the publicity and is a cheap option to consider, a
filler between the better optional
candidates available.

"If so, he has a good chance of winning as a run up the middle."

and watch the NDP cruise to a win
in the next provincial election.

"Bloy has been an excellent leader for the community and there's nothing wrong with calling it like it is when it comes to these protester thugs who are the real idiots."

Harry hasn't done much for Burnaby
since he was elected so he's not much in the way of leader material.

If he is a leader, he should know when to keep that cut under his nose healed.

Wonder if there's going to be any of those protestors at Harry's riding office during his Open House
next week?

Only the ones that lose their marbles!

There's quite a few protestors that have already lost their marbles, particularly Chris Shaw, David Eby and Garth Mullins to name a few.

Anyone who protests wearing a kerchief over their mouth as a mask has definately lost their marbles or is stupidly being a coward.

Probably both at the same time.

FYI - the definition of "harry"

persistently carry out attacks on (an enemy or an enemy's territory).
persistently harass

12/09/2009 3:47 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

and by that the "comfort zone" of the protestors is suppoed to be some kind of "territory"??

The protestors have no "territory" that explicitly belongs to them.

They have no more "custody" of any "territory" than your average
Joe and Mary Sixpack who will be supporting the 2010 Games do.

Another definition of Harry has to do with his previous behaviours in
getting his own way and planting
his inept supporters in position to make sure the door is open before he gets to it.
