Good gawd.

The blood sport begins the next day.

One former NDPer facing off against a current one?

Is there an emergency unit bed open at Royal Columbian? At Burnaby General?

This is going to be a real fight
and an ugly one.

Chouhan will go after Rankin like a hungry wolf going after a piece of raw meat.

The NDP will roll in the heavy weaponry to defend Chouhan from Lee Rankin.

But the biggest threat isn't Lee Rankin. It's Ragni Rankin (the Baroness of Burnaby who takes no prisoners). She'll want Chohan's head. As a trophy to hold up high.

She'll make Chohuan quake with fear, he had better get as much sleep as he can, as cold sweats and sleepness nights, perhaps sleeping with one eye open, will be the usual for the next five weeks.

This will not be for the faint of heart. Scenes that will be vomit inducing for those who aren't used to such political savagry.

It will so politically gory and fiendish, it will make even the most hard core, seasoned, seen everything political watchers turn around and wince..

if they don't vomit in disgust at what they saw duringthe political fight first.

I am an independent voter, so I can say this loud and clear.

Has Lee Rankin no shame?
Good grief, but I guess it is about time, there is no need to talk about Lee Rankin's past life when he was sitting with Derek Corrigan on the council as BCA members.

I guess I am not the only one who is tired and disgusted. Doesnt really matter anyways since we already knew the results. But if anything, it may well be that it is BCLIB's own people that are the ones that actually want to have Lee Rankin removed at the end of the election.

To the idiots that think Kathy Corrigian is running in a "foriegn riding".

news for you.

Lee Rankin does not live in Burnaby Edmonds. He lives in Burnaby North.

So he too is running in a 'foriegn riding'.

I think Lee is the right man for the job. He has got the experience and knows Burnaby better that Raj does. Chouhan is a worst kind of dipper, he is a jackal who lies to seniors (especially Indo-Canadian seniors) and represents the worst kind of cynical politics.

Lee Rankin has fought hard for Burnaby residents, he is honest and he knows his stuff. I am very glad he is in the race to defeat Chouhan.

Lee hasn't exactly been upfront on a few things in his political adventures. He has pissed off alot of people, including Harry Bloy.

Lee used to be a Dipper.

Look for Edmonds to be represented by Raj Chouhan.

Lee is running in a foriegn riding.

To all you idiot foreigners who can't spell. Lee lives in Burnaby-Willingdon so at least John Nuraney has two voters who will support him and the Pre Trial Detention Centre. ;)

Chouhan will have his hands full. Lets face it Rankin has a good following in Burnaby. The only reason he lost the civic election is because of the low turnout which will not be the case in the Provincial Election.

The largest reason for Lee losing is that he ticked off alot of people. Including many of his former supporters in Team Burnaby.

From first (2005) to ninth (2009)?

Not exactly the product of a low turnout. Turnouts in civic elections have always been low compared to the provincial election.

Good for Lee. Provincial politics is the right arena for him. I hope he wins - although it is a longshot. Even prominent federal Liberals in the area will be quietly (or maybe openly) working to defeat him.

It will probably work a lot better at the municipal level as well if he goes to Victoria.

Winning over or ticking off Team Burnaby supporters wont win or lose you and election.

They are a rumour.

Those same supporters of Team Burnaby are in the minority in Bby Edmonds, but the public perception of Lee Rankin is out there.

If provincial politics was the right arena for him, why did he not run in 2001 when he would have had an easier chance?

A nomination meeting about 30 days before the start of a set dated election period? One of the last ridings to be set? When many of the new ridings were nominated months ago?

Something definately wrong there.

In this case just one. the BC Liberal genius who took too long to locate a winning candidate and under duress from their HQ had to come up with someone fast.

Could have had a much better result, two nominees with a good resounding democratic vote from the membership to choose, the two (or more) candidates could use the nomination contest as a practice for the real election thing and could have raised their and the party's profile.

But once again the BC Liberals have shown they are a totalitarian benevolent dictatorship when it comes to non incumbent ridings.

Look for Larry Moe and Curly the three incumbent MLAs in Buraby to be at the meeting to see Lee off.

The NDP meanwhile is sharpening the
implements..

The vivisection on Lee's background will begin shortly.

-----------------------------------
You mean like the NDP's nomination process in Vancouver Kensington, whereby self-declared "radical" and "militant" and "Anti-Zionist" Mable Elmore "won" the NDP nomination contest but will turn off the middle-ground voter and will now lose the riding for the NDP? ;)

Elmore only won because Jinnny Sims was not smart enough to get enough Young NDPers out to vote for her.

The BC Liberals could have done much better, but decided to have a preferred candidate and what the audience saw tonight was a pathetic coronation ceremony and a few people now thinking they've got additional cheques coming into their bakin accounts for the next two months courtesy of Lee.

Didn't know there was any Young NDPers out there. Just like the NDP. What is so New about the party after a few years the new label wears out.

There's Young NDPers out there just as there are BC Young Liberals.

They're one and the same.

Blindly loyal to their respective Imperious Leader.

The BC Liberals are in fact not idealologically Canadian Liberal either. They're more conservatives
than liberals.

They used to be Liberals under the leadership of Art Lee and later Gordon Wilson, May Brown etc. etc.

Anon 12:09AM - they used to be Conservative under Gordon Campbell I. They're now Pinko Liberals under Gordon Campbell II. Didnt you notice the change in leadership circa 2004?

There was no change in leadership since 1996 when Gordon Campbell decided to chase after the leadership after only previously joining the party two weeks earlier.

The party mutated into some ugly thing after May Brown and a few of the other original Liberals left the party in 1998.
