Pothole Politics
Somedays it seems like all the City of Burnaby does is road work: speed bumps, roundabouts, sidewalks, new street lights and stop signs, and those road narrowing triangles that calm traffic.
This post is to allow us all to rant about what specific section of Burnaby road drives us nuts. Enjoy.

The huge speed bumps put in by city crews all over Burnaby are hideous and in some cases not safe. What are they thinking of. Whats even worse some bumps are are bigger than others so there is no consistency.
Let's turn the clook back to mud streets and wagon wheel ruts.
There's nothing wrong with the speed bumps.
To resolve the compaint, first look at the nut holding the steering wheel.
I agree. Nothing against speed bumps in residential areas but most in Burnaby are huge.
I would say overkill.
The velocity of some cars on Burnaby residential streets is overkill.
residential streets are not a takeoff runway.

Hmmm..... so are you still riding your 3 speed around town?
Harley Davidison does in fact have
three speeds, so yes.
Don't be inconsiderate of others, slow down.
Hmmm... Are you still getting around in that toy car?
The same report that talks about the dangers of speed bumps also mentions stop signs for the same reasons. I would not want to raise children in a municipality without stop signs or speed bumps. Let's get real folks. Speed bumps are there only to discourage high speed and rat running. A few may be a bit high for low slung cars. That is unfortunate, but surely not a tragedy.
It isn't. Remember that creative driver that decided to use a residential street as a highway and a little girl got the consequences.
Speed bumps are there to discourage speed.
If there's a need to be somewhere on time, leave a little early.
Unless you're driving an ambulance, a fire engine or a patrol car Code 3, there's no reason to race through residential streets.
