D-Day

Word is circulating that the plug is about to be pulled on the management of George Drazenovic's incompetent campaign. Local and national Conservative operatives are about to move in to stablize the Burnaby-Douglas Tory campaign, which has been bleeding votes to longtime Drazenovic friend and Liberal candidate Billy Cunningham. (Some Conservatives are even believing that Drazenovic's campaign is part of a conspiracy orchestrated by Cunningham and his associates to elect Cunningham to the job he so badly desires.) In a close race, allowing Douglas to slip from NDP hands to the Liberals might just determine who holds power when Parliament resumes after the election.

Drazenovic's campaign takeover is expected to be in progress by the end of the weekend.

A conspiracy orchestrated by Cunningham........ Give me a break.
Who is dreaming this crap up. If the same Conservatives used their minute brain power earlier this year they would have figured out what George D was all about and would have talked him into withdrawing in the fall.
Now they are trying to save their butts by blaming it on Cunningham.
Amazing!!!

Conservatives don't have a hope in hell in this riding so any extra effort they are putting into this riding is a waste. They should concentrate on more close ridings like North Van or Forseth's riding where they have winnable situations. BD is a waste of time.

Siskay will win it.

Cunningham's campaign is just the opposite. The federal Liberals are making sure their boy is elected by bringing in Martin and other federal Liberal resources. They should just let it go, and focus
on more winnable federal Liberal ridings, such as David Emmerson's.

The federal Liberals do not owe Bill Cunnigham anything.

At least Cunningham came in a close second last time around with an abysmal campaign. George D was actually trying last election and came in as the second loser.

If you dont like the Liberals and Cunningham why would you suggest they focus elsewhere.
If you had any brains you would encourage them to waste time supporting Cunningham.

If there's time wasted in supporting Cunningham, he might benifit from that and win and no sane person wants that to happen because Billy Boy has already benifited from the federal Liberals by having a nomination and a job handed to him.

The best thing is to focus on winnable ridings such as Emmerson's
rather than "hope to win campaigns" such as Billy Boy's.

At least Emmerson has far more creditials than Billy Boy does.

Emerson has credentials and is respectable. The same can't be said of Smartpork

The day after the election it will probably become obvious to the Conservative leadership in Ottawa that if they want power they need seats. Allowing and encouraging nominations to be hijacked by people who want to be an MP but have no experience or philosophy ALWAYS ends in disaster. The only thing worse than losing with such a candidate is winning and having them cross the floor.

People who vote in general elections don't care about nomination politics, they want to know that the person on the ballot would be a good MP.

George isn't the only ethnic hijack running, there are plenty of others in all the parties, thankfully the voters don't reward them...think Chuck Cadman!

Chuck Cadman was as honest as they come. The Surrey North Conservatives were absolutely stupid for not nominating him and
choosing Grewal.

What plug is there to pull on the GC campaign? There is no campaign. Anything they do now is useless. Too late. Might as well run the campaign from his mom's basement.
