The Martins are coming, the Martins are coming!

Prime Minister Paul Martin, who hopes he has more than just 23 more days on the job, is coming back to B.C. this week. At the moment, our Liberal sources in B.C. are saying the Liberal top dog (and dog may just be the appropriate term given the canine references by Liberals lately) is going to be hitting the Lower Mainland about Wednesday. That visit will likely fall between two trips to Vancouver Island, a place that has not seen much Liberal activity so far this campaign.

No word yet on whether Billy (bring another pol to my campaign office to show off how important I am in the party) Cunningham will be hosting the Prime Minister during his mid-week visit.

More than likely he will. Expect to see Billy Boy strategically positioned in those candidates-as-a-backdrop-video bites so that the viewers of the 6 o'clock news can see him again.

The guy is pathetic. He should be spending time on the phone talking to voters about selling himself and his party's policies, rather than finding out from Mark Mariessen what time PM is arriving at the campaign office.

Layton stops everywhere it seems, pretty much. This stop was Siksay's designated one.

If Martin comes by Mary's office, it'll be a very short visit I think. I'm quite sure that his people can see through Pynenburg as much as everyone else can. There's enough baggage attached to Mary to cause anyone to pause and wonder just who she really is? Is she the facade character she's currently portraying herself to be, or are her words and actions more indicative of the true person.

The norman case, constantly misrepresenting herself as an architect in public, the sudden departure as City Planner for New Westminster, the fact that on one hand she attacks a member of Joyce Murray's Liberal provincial executive, yet the following year, donates a substantial sum to Joyce Murray's failed re election bid, and manages a Campbell Liberal campaign out in surrey? And the latest, calling out Marc Dalton to debate the gun control / NRA angle in an open letter that appeared in the Asian Pacific Post, only to no show the only televised all candidates meeting.

So many questions, so much scandal and hypocrisy surrounds Mary. Perhaps Martin has had his fill of it, and won't put the time into the riding, similarly the way Campbell did a 5 minute whistlestop in New West during the last provincial election. Maybe Martin can smell what's on the horizon, and is choosing to stay out. Then again, we do reside in the 2nd largest country by land mass in the world. And to date, they haven't perfected human cloning.

Thank Gwad for that. Canada would not be able to withstand another copy of Shelia Copps. If something like a second copy of Shelia Copps ended up being
Prime Minister, Canadians should say "well, that's it. It was a good ride while it lasted." Then turn off the lights, close the doors, throw the keys to the country over the border and say to the United States, "it's all yours, friends. Enjoy". and we all pack our bags and move to another Commonwealth country such as Australia or New Zealand or even move "back home" to England or Scotland.

Having to put up with the Liberals' trademark arrogance, and unending self-congratulations on national identity is bad enough.
