Liberal convention thread

The Liberal Party of Canada's B.C. wing held their convention in Richmond yesterday and today. Feel free to comment on Paul Martin, the Liberal's B.C. MPs, and the party's hopes for a fifth consecutive government in the comments section.

What Paul Martin will accomplish
for British Columbia if he and his Liberals are re-elected:

I never voted for the guy but in fairness he has done a fair amount for BC since he took power.
Maybe it's just that JC did less than Jack for BC so anything looks good.
If you look at it outside of the sponsorship thing he has a lot going for him. The economy is good, unemployment is not bad and the government finances are in good shape.
If he can convince the people that he was an innocent bystander on sponsorgate he will win a majority.
I am not sure if I will vote for him but I have to be honest.

Martin and his Liberals haven't done as much as they should for BC.

The statements regarding the economy are not 100% attributable to the federal government. They take credit when things are good, but never when they are bad.

Martin was not an innocent bystander in Adscam. He was Finance Minister at the time and is a senior Party official. He most likely knew directly or through his friends what was going on, and did nothing, so he's also
guilty of being part of it.

He says the Liberals "take responsibility" for what happened.

So, the smart thing for Canadians is to ensure that they do take responsibility by doing one thing
for them.

Relieve them of being government.

If the bridge you're selling happens to be the new Second Port Mann Bridge, let me try it out first.

That is assuming that the Liberals will actually return our fuel tax money so we can build it.

Doesn't count. Has to be right here in the Lower Mainland to count.

But the federal Liberals will never return the money owed to BC anyway. Never have, never will.
