Andrew Stewart just wasn't mayor material. The American style negative campaign reflected badly on him.

But most of what of what he was saying was not him, but rather the campaign chair.

Noted in the local paper that he was a bit miffed that this was the first time he was rejected for a job he was applying for.

There's a first time for everyone.

I'm surprised TEAM didn't run a name similar to Corrigan's to siphon off votes. Look for a Darren Corrigan on the ballot next time.

Team Burnaby has done some incredibly stupid things in the past, but they aren't that dumb.

Well maybe Brian the Campaign Chair is dumb enough to pull a stunt like that.

He's done worse.

If there is Darren Corrigan on the ballot, blame Brian.

Actually wasn't there a Richard Lee running against the current Richard Lee in Burnaby North in the 90's resulting in an easy NDP win.

1996:

It was Richard T. Lee (BC Liberals)
against Richard A.Y. Lee (Progressive Democratic Alliance)

with Pietro Caledino NDP.

Richard A.Y. got a result that was almost the difference between Richard T. Lee and Pietro Caledino

So Richard A. Y. Lee could be said
to split the vote.

But the civic election is done.

The BCA can and will adjust itself to an apparent splitting of the vote. They have done it before and will do it again.

A vote split occured in 1999 in Burnaby civic elections.

That vote split was caused by the old Team Burnaby run by Harry Bloy's Boyz. Burnaby could have gotten rid of the BCA, but those
idiots had to run their own people
and split the vote.

The civic election is over and done with. Time to move on.

All I can say is this is a lot more balanced. An honest opposition will keep everyone honest.

It is more balanced and with people who are level headed and will do good things for Burnaby.

There's high quality representatives from both sides, but since Council is a semi-circle, the adverserial aspect will hopefully be very diminished.

Let's see co-operation not confrontation and let's see Team Burnaby make big improvements on their collective image.

The comment two above from this one should read "An opposition will keep everyone honest." TEAM Burnaby can hardly be considered honest.

The Team Burnaby candidates that actually won seats on Council are honest.

Far more integrity and honesty than the Chair and Campaign Manager, the two idiots that actually ran the campaign.
