The first debate
CKNW is holding a series of all-candidates' debates on the Christy Clark Show. They begin this afternoon with Burnaby-Deer Lake, one of the hotly contested battlegrounds where incumbent BC Liberal John Nuraney squares off against ex-school trustee from the NDP Kathy Corrigan.
The other three Burnaby debates on CKNW are expected next week.

Interesting enough. I give it to Corrigan on points. What was Friesen talking about?
Junk as per usual.
Corrigan won on the points. John kept going on with the line it is dead. If it was, how did it come up more than once during the discussion?
Evened out on the minimum wage issue. John kept to the usual small business line, Corrigan kept to the labour line. But Corrigan won that section.
John is not the brightest light on the tree but I will vote for him as the alternative is too risky for our economy right now.
Have Kathy Corrigan or Carole James ever met a payroll? I doubt it.
Doesn't matter if they met a payroll or not.
A few business owners I've known didn't make the payroll because the bank yanked their line of credit and the paycheque went boiinnngg!
Actually Corrigan met a pretty big payroll. She was chair of board of education that has one of the biggest payrolls in the province. And under the Liberals that meant having to make tough decisions about cutting services.
Exactly. As chair of the School District, the buck stopped with her when it came to school district finances and services.
The other board members had their say, but it was Corrigan who brought forward leadership as Chair of School District 41's School Board.
and as Chair she does have the deciding vote if there's a tie on votes by Board members.
Actually I think John has met a payroll. He owns several A&W franchises and he meets a payroll regularly - with minimum wage employees I would bet. No wonder he is against a wage increase.
BTW, has Raj Chouhan ever met one or even Richard Lee for that matter?
Appreciate you blogging tthis
