I believe we've Cena before

Cathy Cena, the 2005 TEAM Burnaby school board candidate, appears to be taking another kick at the can for school board this year. At this time it is unclear what anti-BCA faction Cena will run with or if she is going to give it a go as an independent. To her credit, her last name starts with a "C" so she should do fairly well as that is how these things are mostly decided.

Has to be the most stupidest supposition. People don't usually vote alphabetically in large numbers to result in a win.

and why "anti-NDP"?? Who would vote for someone who is against something. It's beter to vote for someone who has a positive outlook not one who (like Team Burnaby) perpetually tells the voters what errors were made.

Pointing out errors is alot easier than coming up with sound workable solutions. Too bad Team Burnaby suppporters fail miserably when it comes to coming up with workable positive solutions.

Wow! That didn't take long. The topic is Cathy Cena's running for school trustee. But right off the bat this has turned into another round of trash talk about T/Burnaby. And all this from someone who complains that T/Burnaby is too negative.

This site needs a webmaster to keep the lunies on topic. Cathy Cena ran hard last time and very well might win if she has the money and the time to put into it. And yes- a name starting with a letter that puts her in the first seven on the ballot will help her.

Guess what is even easier to point out errors? Pretend they never happened. BCA incumbents certainly have mastered more than well.

So why anti-NDP you said? Because anti-NDP put Gordon Campbell into power who has stayed there ever since and is too poised to become the first ever premier to preside over three consecutive terms.

Why anti-BCA? No, Team Burnaby does not have to tell the voters to oppose BCA's communist agenda, that is up for the voters to decide. But they are "anti-BCA" because they sincerely believe it is time for transition of power. True, there may be many reasons to send Mayor Corrigan off, but if the voters have decided that it is time for change, anti-BCA or otherwise, it is not going to matter when Mayor Corrigan loses his re-election.

We're fighting communism, now?
Will we sell the schools or hospital first?

These crumbling institutions are a drain on society!

The NDP and BCA are hardly communist.

Does that make Team Burnaby a totalitarian benevolent dictatorship?

Only to their President, Raymond Leung.

No one else matters.

With the turnout in Burnaby politics being so low. At a buck a vote it might be cheaper to buy the votes rather than waste campaign money on the election.

Low because voters rarely care. But that does not mean they are so ignorant they are going to waive any miscalculation the incumbent party in power made against them. Many mayors went out by losing in a large margin because of that. Under the current political condition, the more voters participate, the less likely our mayor is going to get re-elected.

Would be cheaper still if the campaign managers weren't paid, and got back to what a real campaign manager was, a part time volunteer.

Dear Cathy:

Glad to see you back. Burnaby needs good people who have experience fighting the establishment.

Thanks,
a fan
