No cabinet again

Burnaby fails to get itself a second voice at cabinet. Given there are no mines in Burnaby, this is acceptable, but Burnaby having no senior minister remains a problem.

Burnaby'll have to wait until Raj gets in to have a real minister.

True.

But Burnaby having no Cabinet Minister is not the end of the world.

Cabinet Ministers spend huge amounts of time away from their ridings, and while there is one voice at the Cabinet Table, MLA's can talk to their Cabinet associates for project funding, etc. the same kind of talk that would be done if a Burnaby MLA
was a Minister and was to talk with his Cabinet colleagues anyway.

None of the BC Liberal MLA's are cabinet material, but Richard has done well enough to be a Parliamentary Secretary.

The day Raj becomes the Minister of Labor will be the doomsday for BC economy.

I can however understand the frustration. But conservatives continue to lack the grassroot organization in Burnaby against the unions, they wont be able to put up any cabinet material when Campbell gang continue to put their own candidates everywhere.

"The day Raj becomes the Minister of Labor will be the doomsday for BC economy."

Be here when it happens. Bring a Timmie's double double and a Canadian Tire Maple Leaf folding lawn chair and claim your favourite best view spot.

Bring a camera to capture those Kodak moments when Doomsday for BC's economy comes.

The BC Liberals won't last forever, and after March 2010, it's all downhill.

"I can however understand the frustration. But conservatives continue to lack the grassroot organization in Burnaby against the unions, they wont be able to put up any cabinet material when Campbell gang continue to put their own candidates everywhere. "

You obvously don't understand how Cabinet appointments work. It's a balance between leadership talent and geography.

You also forgot one entrant from Burnaby into the Cabinet, in the name of Patty Sahota. She was put in as a Minister of Resorts as a last minute effort to save her from being defeated.

That didn't work.

As far as the " But conservatives continue to lack the grassroot organization in Burnaby against the unions", goes the talent and ability is out there, but a few BC Liberals are freebasing on power and not
spending the effort to encourage more
volunteers from the membership.

The BC Liberal activity in Burnaby Edmonds and Willingdon is abysmal.

The result? More NDP longevity in Burnaby.
