They just don't

Andrew Stewart gets recognized in The Georgia Straight's Best of Vancouver issue for best "close, but no martini" for his DUI the day before last November's election.

The alt-weekly notes he "came in just 3,710 votes behind Derek Corrigan in the Burnaby mayoral race despite concealing an impaired-driving conviction throughout most of the campaign."

So close, yet so far away. Remember that it's only 26 months till the next municipal election.

It's amazing how dumb the guy was not disclosing a criminal act, and worse Team Burnaby's sole Candidate Search committee comprising of one smart challenged person didn't even bother to check.

Stewart seems to drive too fast
in his red toy car too. Wonder how many speeding tickets he's received.

Stewart was the reason TB did not get more seats on council. Stewart could not beat Corrigan and it would have been a shock to him if he had won but TB did have a good chance to take the balance of council.
Even if a few hundred didnt show up to vote after they found out he was charged with drunk driving that would have been enough to get people like Barb Spitz and a few others elected.
The TB spinmeisters screwed this up big time.

Andrew Stewart has new challenges in his life now that far outweigh past civic campaigns or fixing cars. There may be a few people in TB who have still not learned from the mistakes that were made last time out, but I doubt that Mr. Stewart is one of them.

The Team Bloy Boyz must be counting down the months to when they'll get paid to run another campaign again.
