The Derek, Gateway, and How Not to Win South of the Fraser

Langley Politics is providing some analysis of Derek Corrigan's criticism of the Gateway Project and the Transportation Minister's failure to consult him.

Derek Corrigan would be an improvement over what the NDP has now. He would at least bring an end to the Pax Columbia -- catchy is it not? -- that Vaughn Palmer is suggesting has broken out in the Garden City.

Derek Corrigan is nuts.

The representatives from Gateway were at Council when the subject of Gatway came up.

But The BCA would do well to get retire him, and replace him with someone fresh and new. That would be good for Burnaby.

What would be bad for Burnaby is for Team Burnaby to win the Mayor's Chair, especially if Team Burnaby runs the same disasterous campaign they ran last time with the same people such as Mark Robertson and Brian Bonney.

Corrigan is a rare entity, a politician that calls a spade a spade. On the last televised council on SHAW TV, Corrigan suggested that more private liquor stores would result in a society with a lower quality of life. Plus, he ripped a hole in Edmonton, which was almost as hilarious as his latest letter in the Burnaby Now.

What is hilarous about recent letters in the Burnaby Now is Bruce Friesen's freaking out on the issue of homelessness. As per usual Team Burnaby's illustrious policy chair got his facts wrong.

Too bad Team Burnaby keeps him and doesn't dismiss him from his policy role.

He's simply not good at it.
