Election season is officially underway. The signs are up and soon will be cluttering the medians on major roads throughout the Lower Mainland. Burnaby's colourful signs are black on yellow for the governing BCA and white, blue, green, and red for TEAM Burnaby. An independent candidate has red and white signs.
BCA's signs promote mayoral incumbent Derek Corrigan along with a selection of council and school board candidates on each bag sign. Their larger signs promote a full list.
TEAM Burnaby's huge signs have all 16 names on them and all that stands out is the smaller font "VON" in school trustee candidate Nancy von Euw's name. Those signs sure are colourful, if not a tad crowded with all the names and links to both of TEAM Burnaby's websites.

Team Burnaby signs are bad design.
Too small to read all 16 names, or
even pick out more than one.
Dumb idea. They should have gone to a larger size.
BCA uses a larger type size. Better
contrast and reading.
if they have just put VON for that school trustee's name, they screwed
up. but what else is new from
this groups that supposed to have
an 'excellent' campaign manager.
Had look at them. VON's not there, but the whole name is.
But the signs are not done properly. Too crowded, hard to read
especially at night when driving
around.
BCA's aren't much better. They used
to have those big ones but don't
now.
BCA's are better than Team Burnaby's though. Easier to read.
Think the previous poster is right.
team Burnaby screwed up on their signs. But what else is new with

Who actually reads the names on these signs anyways. Anyone who does is seconds away from their airbags deploying.
Others dont give a rats a$$. That's why no one will show up to vote let alone read the names on the signs. Sad but---it is what it is.

Cheap colours. Value Village--Money Mart. Maybe a subliminal message in there.
Value Village doesn't use orange.
