Gimme Shelter

Drew Stewart, TEAM Burnaby's pick for mayor, landed big coverage in today's Vancouver Sun discussing Burnaby's problems with the homeless. That pretty much hurls the ball into the BCA's court and forces the socially conscious NDPers to defend their running of the city for the past two decades.

It looks like Stewart may finally be the one to throw the BCA out. The way things are going, a few of the TEAM council candidates may even ride in on his coattails.

Andrew Stewart actually.

Doubt if Stewart is going to throw the BCA out.

People in Burnaby aren't mad enough to change the current civic government and what happens afterwards?

The Bloy Boyz get drunk with power
and do dumb things.

The city of Burnaby is mad as hell. Corrigan's days are numbered.

The BCA was hammered from all sides at last night's all candidates debate...

All the momenteum so far has been on TEAM's side ... unless the BCA does something soon, Nov 19 will mark the end of the BCA.

Doubt that. Two weeks out is not
an indication that the end is near.

Hopefully Team won't end up as a majority. If that happens, Harry Bloy's boys particularly Brian
Bonney will be freebasing on power.

That is only one meeting out of several. Those meetings attract the partisans, not the ordinary
Joe and Mary Sixpack.

Considering that the majority of Team Burnaby operatives are provincial Liberals, you would think that they would have been busy working the MLAs to resolve the homeless problem. But noooo.

Where was Team Burnaby on this problem last time?

Too busy helping Bonney defame Corrigan through sloppy research

I thought Corrigan came out against a Homeless Shelter last night. Really sounded like it.
If he did he is right, there are apparently 40 homeless people in Burnaby according to the stakeholders. How are these 40 going to be convinced to go to one shelter in East Burnaby if that is where it is. Tao was the only one with the Kahoonas when he said he is only concerned about helping the homeless if they wanted to be helped.

What's all this cr*p about Bloy. The BCA must really be panicking if they think he is massing a campaign against them.
Sounds like witch hunting to me.

The BCA already knows that Ream Burnaby is Harry Bloy's group. So do alot of Burnaby people. Campaign Chair is a close friend of Bloy, One of the candidates was Bloy's campaign manager, a few of the key campaign workers are from Bloy's campaign, some of the initial meetings of the old Team Burnaby were held in Harry's riding office and on and on it goes.

BCA isn't panicking. They are strong.

Don't worry about them. Worry about Team Burnaby...

That is if you want to waste time.

On Team Burnaby's homeless shelter issue, why don't they advocate more money from the provincial government? The City shouldn't be
costing out homeless shelters, but can and should work with the provincial government and have the local charities run it.

Seems that Team Burnaby is trying to get political points on the backs of the poor.

They didn't come up with a plan
in the last election.

Pretty sad.
