Election Eve

Some final items:

  • O'Ryans Neighbourhood Pub has used its outdoor signage for the past week to support Burnaby Citizens candidates Derek Corrigan, Kathy Corrigan, Nick Volkow, and Colleen Jordan.

  • Jeffrey Chiu has done something new in Burnaby by putting up little additions to TEAM Burnaby bag signs that feature his name in Chinese.

  • Jeffrey Chiu and Garth Evans of TEAM Burnaby fired off some last minute ads into Chinese papers including Sing Tao today. Left-wing interloper Gabriel Yiu, who suffered an upset defeat at the hands of BC Liberal John Nuraney in this spring's provincial election, has been stumping for Derek Corrigan and the BCA.

  • Andrew Stewart got some very negative coverage in today's Vancouver Sun. In the final media cycle of the election, Stewart will have no opportunity to fight back against the drunk driving coverage, but it appears to have not picked up much traction. Weekend Burnaby papers will have more on this story but, thankfully for TEAM Burnaby, this will come too late in most neighbourhoods to make any impact on voting.

I will be gald when this game is all over. I am so tired of reading your blog Robert Burnaby. Although amusing at times especially the comments. Til we meet again.

I would second the above bloggers comments. Your poll projections are amusing yet bloated. It's been fun following the BS but enough is enough. Any Chance the Liberals could extend municipal terms to 4 years to extend the rest even further???

Why would there be a "fight back" on a drunk driving conviction. He was charged. From appearances, this happened quite a few years ago. Dumb stupid mistake on his part, but thankfully no one was injured and no vehicle damage was done and he paid the fine, and he was not in a position of public trust so time to move on.

What would worrysome is that if
Team Burnaby gets the Mayor's chair and majority on council, the people running the Team Burnaby campaign would overdose on power and opportunity.

Just elect Lee Rankin and maybe one other of the better candidates (who would win without Team Burnaby anyway), and throw the rest of them and the campaign in the can.

That way Lee can continue his work with assistance and the rest of the campaign be considered a failure and the Team Burnaby group can continue with 3 more years of self-gratification.
