Nash for Premier?

He's one of B.C.'s most popular figures and is a lot more popular in his native Victoria than politicians most of the time. Steve Nash was in B.C. a week ago for his charity basketball game at the soon to be renovated GM Place and for a ceremony at an urban park in Victoria.

While he was in B.C. some MLAs were able to catch up with him. Burnaby-Willingdon MLA John Nuraney and Surrey MLA Dave Hayer were able to snap this photo with the NBA MVP.

Could Gordon Campbell's Liberals land the Canadian superstar after his playing days are done? Perhaps the NDP would sit well with Nash's social conscience. For now he is probably a lot happier being king of the hardwood.

Think Plant

The province launched its new post-secondary visioning strategy in Burnaby today. With the announcement taking place at BCIT earlier today, expect technology, technical, and trades training to be key items in the final report.

Corrigan in '09?

One woman's tragedy, is another New Democrat's opportunity. Could current Burnaby Citizens' Association Mayor Derek Corrigan be NDP leader by the 2009 election? In which of Burnaby's three realigned ridings would he run?
